County’s new 2040 general plan doesn’t go over well with special interests

A slew of lawsuits from agricultural interests and oil and gas groups followed the adoption of Ventura County’s 2040 general plan last month.
The document, which took five years to prepare, will guide all growth and development in the area for two decades. It places a high priority on fighting climate change and taking action to protect the environment, including reducing emissions, restricting drilling and promoting renewable energy.
