Children who live on Buttonwood Avenue in Oak Park had a carnival in their cul-de-sac on Labor Day in memory of their playmate and neighbor Bo Wagner, a 6-year-old boy who died of a brain tumor last April.
All proceeds from the event were given to the Heart of a Champion Foundation in Bo’s name. A tree was planted in his honor and a plaque was dedicated during the carnival.
Madison Buckley, 9, said, "Our neighborhood is all one big family."
