Citizen participation is essential to making a community better, said Matthew Heller, who was appointed to the Calabasas Parks, Recreation and Education Commission in 2006.
“If you’re going to live an effective, productive life, it’s not enough to just go to work and come home and bring a pay check,” said the 45-year-old community leader and family man. “Everyone has a responsibility to make the world a better place.”
