Club hosts program on ‘Hollywood and Hitler’




The Conejo Valley and Ventura chapters of the Brandeis National Committee will meet at 1 p.m. Tues., Jan. 12 at the Grant Brimhall/Thousand Oaks Library, 1401 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks.

Tom Doherty, Brandeis University professor of American studies and a cultural historian with an interest in Hollywood cinema, will present “Hollywood and Hitler.” His talk will explore the challenge presented to the American film industry during the rise of the Third Reich. Doherty will discuss the moral and ethical problems of addressing or ignoring Nazism and the coverage of Hitler.
