CLU student launches trick or treat food drive

California Lutheran University senior Chloe Golembesky has created a canned food drive, Trick or Treat So Kids Can Eat, that will take place throughout Ventura County on Halloween night. Volunteers will go door to door to collect canned food for Ventura County FOOD Share.

On Oct. 28, participants will distribute fliers requesting participation from residents in the communities where they’ll collect cans.

Participants will meet at 5 p.m. Wed., Oct. 31 at California Lutheran University, 60 W. Olsen Road, Thousand Oaks, before trick-or-treating for food donations.

All donations will be collected at a central location to be announced.

Organizations throughout Southern California have agreed to work together and help in this mission to end hunger. Members from every athletic team at CLU will be present to provide manpower.

Participants unable to join the event on Wednesday night are encouraged to collect from their own neighborhoods and drop off the donations the following day.
