Citizens, peace officers praised

On Fri., March 29, I was awakened at 5:45 a.m. by Dep. John Liebe with the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s station advising me that they had recovered property which had been stolen from my residence during the night. I was not even aware that my property had been burglarized until he told me.

Dep. Liebe said the reason the burglars were apprehended so quickly was due to action by residents who took the time to get involved when they noticed something suspicious and called the sheriff’s department.

I want to publicly thank those individuals for thinking of others and taking action to stop these burglaries in our community. It is only through people getting involved that we can keep our community safe and as crime free as possible.

I also want to thank Dep. Liebe and Dep. Mike Gurrola at the Lost Hills Station for their courtesy and professionalism. They made a bad situation bearable.

I was able to retrieve my property at the station before I had enough time to really think about the burglary.

Remember, if you notice something that doesn’t seem right, let the sheriff’s department know.
