Chumash Center seeks volunteers





The Conejo Valley Retired & Senior Volunteer Program is recruiting men and women, ages 55 and up for the Chumash Interpretive Center in the following areas:

•Education program assistants work with third and fourthgrade students on a three-hour education program. Duties include carrying a backpack, monitoring outdoor games, crafts and helping staff the gift shop if needed.

•Craft volunteers assemble craft kits, laminate, cut and staple booklets for programs, staff the gift shop, and cut and tie yarn to create bookmarks.

•Class and lecture assistants help with setup, greet visitors, help teachers or lecturers, and help clean up after. The center will be adding art and photography classes, children’s nature classes, lectures with local Chumash elders, archeology classes for children and adults, and more.
