Chaparral, A.C. Stelle lead scores parade

Despite facing dwindling resources and ongoing budget cuts, students in the Las Virgenes Unified School District continue to excel academically, according to the results of the 2009 Academic Performance Index (API) released Sept. 15 by the California Department of Education.
The API scores, which range from 200 to 1,000, are derived from standardized tests taken in the spring by students throughout the state.
