Chabad celebrates holidays





Chabad will celebrate the holidays of Sukkot and Simchat Torah with services, festivals and Hakafot dancing through Fri., Oct. 5.

Sukkot services will take place on Thursday and Friday at 10 a.m. at all five local Chabad Centers: Chabad of Agoura Hills at 30345 Canwood St., Chabad of Westlake Village at 2524 Townsgate Road, Chabad of Oak Park at 5998 Conifer St., Chabad of Thousand Oaks at 2060 Avenida De Los Arboles No. I, and Chabad of Calabasas, 3871 Old Topanga Canyon Road.

On Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 and 2, Chabad will travel the community with a mobile sukkah mounted on a flatbed truck. The sukkah will visit shopping centers and seniors’ homes to offer all Jews the opportunity to come inside the sukkah.

Simchat Torah will be celebrated at 7:30 p.m. Thurs., Oct. 4 at all locations. There will be dancing with the Torah and flags for all children.

The last portion of the Torah will be read Fri., Oct. 5, followed by reading the first portion of Genesis.
