Carol King Tapestry tribute coming to T.O.

Outdoor concert in park is July 24


The Conejo Recreation and Park District’s family-friendly 2016 Summer Concerts in the Park Series continues Sun., July 24 with Tapestry: A Tribute to Carole King.

The show begins at 5 p.m. in the natural amphitheater at Conejo Community Park, 1175 Hendrix Ave., Thousand Oaks.

Admission is free, and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Tapestry will perform music by one of the most successful female singer-songwriters in pop music history.

The song list includes “You’ve Got a Friend,” “Natural Woman,” “It’s Too Late”, “So Far Away,” “I Feel the Earth Move,” “Where You Lead,” “Beautiful,” “Pleasant Valley Sunday,” “Jazzman” and “Up on the Roof.”

Guests can bring picnics and blankets or folding chairs for lawn seating. The weather may turn cool in the evening.

For those wishing to purchase food, Conejo Community Center staff will provide $1 hot dogs and snow cones.

Event parking is off site only. On-site parking is reserved for cars displaying handicap placards until the lot is full. Leave pets at home.

Sun., Aug. 14. Deadman’s Party: An Oingo Boingo Tribute will bring the ’80s rock band to life.

Labor Day, Mon., Sept. 5. The final concert of the summer is Hollywood U2: a Tribute to U2.
