Canine Awareness Day in Oak Park

Pet licensing, low-cost vaccination clinic scheduled

Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District will host its biannual canine awareness day from 10 a.m. to noon Sat., Oct. 12 adjacent to the dog park at Oak Canyon Community Park.

Oak Park’s Dog Day is offered as a convenience for local dog owners, said Renee Peace, recreation supervisor for Rancho Simi

The event will include a vaccination clinic and pet licensing through the Ventura County Animal Control Department.

The cost for shots provided by Thousand Oaks-based Animal Clinic of the Oaks will range from $10 to $20 each.

Licensing is $20 per year for altered animals and $75 per year for unaltered pets over the age of four months.

Pet owners should bring vaccination and sterilization records.

Payment can only be made with cash or check.
