Camps introduce kids to nature

. Registration open for summer programs


Registration for Mountains Restoration Trust’s Nature Discovery Camp is open for the two summer sessions at Masson House, Headwaters Corner Interpretive Center, 23075 Mulholland Hwy., Calabasas.

Each session will offer a different environmental focus to introduce children ages 8 through 12 to nature through crafts, labs using scientific tools, guided discoveries, hikes, games and interactive guest speakers.

The two sessions will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Mondays through Fridays, as follows:

•Session 1 from July 16 to 20 will feature reptiles and amphibians, birds, endangered species, and a field trip to Malibu Lagoon.

•Session 2 from July 30 to August 3 will focus on insects, reptile and mammal conservation, outdoor survival, paleontology, a field trip to Tapia Park for crayfish collecting.

Pre-registration is required.
