California seems unsustainable

Since the passing of Prop. 30, the single biggest tax hike ever assessed on Californians in history, and Jerry Brown’s victory lap, I ask: When exactly can we expect the millions of unemployed in California to start seeing the state’s economy improve?

The GOP is completely incompetent. If they really want to start winning elections on a national level, they should run on the failure that California has become under the Democratic majority.

We now have the highest sales taxes, income taxes, gasoline taxes and, if the liberals can undue Prop. 13, we will also have the highest property taxes.

We also have the highest vehicle registration fees and, last but not least, the highest paid public sector workers in the country. Benefit and salary packages are unsustainable and drowning state taxpayers in debt for years to come.

Every year a new tax initiative is proposed because the unions own the Democrats and the unions want more revenue.

When are political leaders going to be held legally responsible for the fraud and abuse they commit against taxpayers?

What Grey Davis gave away to the state unions in 1998 in exchange for their political support has sent California into a debt that it will never recover from.

Sure, he was recalled from office when it was revealed he would double vehicle registration fees to pay for it, but the damage was done; the contracts were signed.

Antonio Villagrossa made the same promises to the L.A. city workers union in exchange for their political support. The end result will be a $4-billion shortfall when he leaves office.

Does he care? Does Grey Davis care? No, because there are no consequences for defrauding the taxpayers.

Watch with interest how the City of Bell scandal unfolds in court and realize this is the same kind of fraud that has been going on all over California for years.
