Three of California’s newest millionaires went back to work Tuesday, even after learning they will share a $56 million SuperLOTTO Plus jackpot.

Michele Quiroz, a Calabasas resident, and Delia Perales and Indira Acosta, both from North Hollywood, work for Employers Direct Insurance Co. in Agoura Hills and pitched in $2 apiece for six quick-pick numbers.

“I’m thrilled,” Quiroz said. “It’s surreal.”

Perales declined to comment, and Acosta couldn’t be reached for an interview.

According to the California Lottery website, Acosta was the first to check the winning quickpick numbers on the ticket which Perales purchased at the Reyes Adobe Shell Station in Agoura Hills. The second series of numbers were the winners, the lottery report said.

The women’s supervisor at Employers Direct, who wished that her name not be used, said she was in the midst of training two of the women when they found out they had hit lucky lottery numbers.

“They were just numb- stunned,” the supervisor said. She said the women have not quit their jobs-yet. But retirement is reportedly on their minds, especially for Perales, who blurted out “Retire!” when she realized she truly was a lottery winner.

Besides retirement, all three women have big plans for enjoying their winnings. Perales told lottery administrators she wants to buy property and build a house and will share her newfound wealth with her children and set up college funds for her grandchildren.

Quiroz expects to buy a home and set up college funds for her children as well. Acosta thought first of buying a new car.

Since the three chose the cash option, which allows a full payout minus luxury taxes, each will receive more than $9 million, said lottery officials. The winners can expect a four to six-week wait for their prize, officials said.

The women weren’t the only winners. Peter Hong, owner of Reyes Adobe Shell, will receive a half percent of the jackpot prize-$280,000-from the state.
