Calabasas resident indicted by feds on bankruptcy fraud

Calabasas resident and real estate developer Mark Handel is facing up to 120 years in prison after being charged in a federal indictment.

Handel, 66, is accused of making false statements in a bankruptcy case, hiding assets belonging to a bankrupt estate, falsely testifying under oath at a bankruptcy proceeding and money laundering. He is the CEO and president of Woodland Hills-based MWH Development and formerly served on the Calabasas Architectural Review Panel, a city oversight group.
