Calabasas completes open-space acquisition

Nature’s foothold in Calabasas got a boost with the pending purchase of 95 acres of open space near Mulholland Highway.
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and the Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority (MRCA) will pay $1 million each to buy the property at the southwest corner of Dry Canyon Cold Creek and Old Topanga Canyon roads to keep it from being developed.
