Girl Scouts aim to earn the Cadette Silver Award

HAPPY HELPERS—The Cotton Club Girl Scout group in Troop 1876—from left, Grace Eglit, Isabella Gertz, Parker Ong and McKenna Daly—is working with the Agoura Animal Shelter to renovate their outdoor rabbit enclosure. The Lindero Canyon Middle School eighth-graders plan to earn a Silver Award, the highest honor a Girl Scout Cadette can achieve. The purpose of the award is to educate and raise awareness about important issues in the community. In this case, the troop’s objective is to modernize the enclosure and get it back up running again as it has deteriorated over the past few years. The girls seek to raise $5,000, which will go toward fencing, platforms, runs, hutches and hideouts for the new outdoor bunny enclosure as well as rabbit-care items.
