Bringing the laughs from Hollywood to Hillcrest

Hillcrest Center for the Arts will once again host its Live Standup Comedy on the Hill show at 8 p.m. Sat., July 13 at 403 W. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.

July’s lineup includes Jimmy Burns, Steve Bruner and Fritz Coleman, the weatherman. Professional local comedian Jason Love will host.

Love also produces this monthly show in collaboration with the Hillcrest Center for the Arts. The show features a new lineup each month of Hollywood headliners.

The shows sell out each month, so all tickets are reserved seating and are available three months in advance.

The 90-minute show is for ages 18 and up only. Beer and wine may be purchased with valid ID. Summer shows often take place outdoors under the stars.

Bruner has delivered his laser-sharp humor on Comedy Club Network, “An Evening at the Improv,” “Into the Night” and “The Byron Allen Show.”

He regularly performs at corporate events, concerts, colleges, cruises and clubs, like The Comedy

Store, The Improv, The Comedy and Magic Club, The Laugh Factory, The Punchline, Catch a Rising Star, The Ice House and smaller venues across the U.S.

He has also written for “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” “The Byron Allen Show,” “The Sunday Comics” and “Comic Strip Live.”

Bruner served as a writer/segment producer for “Haywire,” a sketch comedy show on Fox.

He’s also appeared in independent films, commercials, online videos and the theater.

Coleman has been doing stand-up since 1980 and is a regular at The Ice House.

He’s worked as a weatherman for KNBC-TV in Los Angeles since 1982.

He’s been a comedian and disc jockey as well as a radio personality at WBEN and later WKBW in Buffalo, NY.

He has written and performed two one-man theater acts, “The Reception” and “It’s Me! Dad!”

Coleman received the 2004 EMA Community Service Award for his role with KNBC’s 4 Our Planet, a children’s program.

He appeared in one of Raymond

Burr’s last Perry Mason television films, “The Case of the Telltale Talk Show Host,” in 1993.

Burns has walked the halls and lived the life any teacher will recognize, and tells stories from his days as a teacher.

He’s worked with Arsenio Hall, George Lopez and Brad Garrett.

Burns recently performed at The Ice House and Brad Garrett’s Comedy Club inside the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Tickets are $15 for reserved premium seats and $12 for reserved seats presale. All tickets at the door are $15. Parking is free.
