After 150 years it might seem that there’s nothing left to learn about the Civil War, but David Zimring, an Agoura High School alumnus, found a fresh angle to a topic that has captivated the imagination of history buffs since the war ended in 1865.
Zimring, the son of former Las Virgenes Unified School District Superintendent Donald Zimring, published his first book, “To Live and Die in Dixie: Native Northerners Who Fought for the Confederacy,” at the end of December.
