‘Messiah’ live

Los Robles Master Chorale will present Handel’s “Messiah” at 3 p.m. Sun., Dec. 13 at The Church of the Epiphany, 5450 Churchwood Drive, Oak Park.

The work will be performed at Baroque pitch with chamber orchestra featuring soloists from within the chorale. Lesley Leighton is the artistic director.

Tickets are $25 for adult, $20 for senior age 60 and up, and $15 student.

Menorah lighting at The Oaks

Temple Adat Elohim will host its eighth annual community Chanukah candle lighting and jelly doughnut reception 6 p.m. Sun., Dec. 13 at the Outdoor Village at The Oaks mall, 350 W. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks.

The TAE Chorale, Shirei Elohim Junior Choir and The Band of Milk and Honey, under the direction of Cantor David Shukiar, will perform.

A pre-event for young children with storytelling, crafts and snacks at take place at 4 p.m. at The Open Book.

Christmas cantata

Ascension Lutheran Church will present a 45-minute Christmas cantata, “What Child is This?” by Joel Raney, at the 8 and 9:30 a.m. worship services Sun., Dec. 13 in the sanctuary, 1600 Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks.

The church’s 50-voice Chancel Choir, soloists and an orchestra will perform. For more information, call (805) 495-0406.
