Classic cars rev up for ADA benefit

The 4th annual ADA Charity Car Show, benefiting the American Diabetes Association, will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sun., Nov. 18 at MB2 Raceway. 1475 Lawrence Drive, Thousand Oaks.

The event will have classics, hot rods, customs, lowriders, cruisers, imports and muscle cars.

Car entries need to arrive by 10 a.m.

This is the only car show in the Conejo Valley with a mobile dyno, courtesy of MCE Racing.

The band Triple Distilled will provide live music.

The emcees will be Bob Beck, announcer from Irwindale Drag Strip and host of “Great American Auto Scene,” as well as Randy Kerdoon from KNX1070 News and Talking About Cars.

Celebrity guests such as Constance Nunes and Colin Ford will be present.

Younger car enthusiasts can take part in the kidz zone.

The event will also have food and car-related vendors and a raffle.

Spectator admission is free. Entries are $30 per car.

Cancer patients are looking good

The Cancer Support Community Valley/Ventura/Santa Barbara will hold a free workshop, “Look Good Feel Better” with Terra Susquehanna, from 6 to 8 p.m. Mon., Nov. 12 at 530 Hampshire Road, Westlake Village.

The workshop will teach beauty techniques that help persons manage the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment.

A licensed beauty professional will teach makeup and give skin care tips.

A complimentary make-up kit will be provided for first-timers.

Playing mahjong over lunch

The Cancer Support Community Valley/Ventura/Santa Barbara will hold a free workshop, “Brown Bag and Mahjong!,” from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Fri., Nov. 9 at 530 Hampshire Road, Westlake Village.

Participants should bring their own lunch and enjoy playing the game. American-style mahjong will be played.
