Take time for tea
The Woodland Hills Woman’s Club will host its annual Summertime Tea fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sat., Aug. 4 at St. Bernadine’s Parish Hall, 24410 Calvert St., Woodland Hills.
Tea sandwiches, scones, desserts and teas will be served.
The event will also have entertainment, a silent auction and vendors for shopping.
Proceeds will support many local charitable causes.
Tickets are $60.

The Greater Los Angeles Paint Horse Club will host its annual Fun at the Fair open horse show on Tues. and Wed., Aug. 7 and 8 during the Ventura County Fair in Ventura.
This year, it will add nationally pointed classes for registered American Paint horses to the event.
The show will also offer a whole day of English classes and Western classes and games. In addition, all contestants will be part of a card game with a large selection of prizes during the event.
Day-end and show-end highpoint awards will be given in all age breaks and large ribbons will be awarded in every class.

Scouts fork it over
Girl Scouts of California’s Central Coast will host the fourth annual Fork It Over fundraiser from 6 to 9 p.m. Thurs., Sept. 20 at the Palm Garden Hotel in Thousand Oaks.
The fundraiser will have chefs from local restaurants create Girl Scout cookie-inspired appetizers and desserts. The event will also feature beverages from across California’s Central Coast, including local breweries, wineries and vineyards.
The evening’s finale will feature a cookie competition with recipes from chefs from popular local California restaurants, caterers and food trucks. A panel of judges will select the best creations and guests can vote for the “People’s Choice” award as well as participate in a silent auction.
Tickets for the event are available. All proceeds will benefit the GSCCC’s Girl Scout Leadership Experience,

Beginners can learn to play mahjong
The Agoura Hills Recreation Center hosts an ongoing majong class for beginners from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays at 29900 Ladyface Court.
Participants can learn the rules and strategies of playing the game.
The sets and cards needed to play mahjong are provided. Snacks are included. A fee is charged.
