Oak Park actors

and their "Oliver"

Well, they did it again. If you didn’t go to the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza on Wed., Thurs. or Fri, (May 23, 24 or 25), you really missed out.

On Thurs., May 24, the Rules (Acorn publishers) and I had the pleasure of seeing the Oak Park High School drama production of "Oliver."

It wasn’t "okay, fair, not bad, pretty good, average" – it was magnificent – costumes, makeup, music, settings – all full of class.

Interestingly, many of the cast members were freshmen, sophomores and juniors – therefore affording Oak Park High School the advantage of these talents to be "onstage" for more years to come.

I could not end this letter without special thanks to Tony Knight and the Oak Hills Elementary School staff for relinquishing their three reserved nights at the Civic Arts Plaza to Oak Park High School for this year’s spring performance of "Oliver."

To all those involved in making this year’s "Oliver" a total success – crew, Rick Rhodes, Ruth Cordell, Lane Davies, Susan Turner, Don Nelson, Harvey Cohen, Heidi Cissell – OPHS staff, parents and supporters – thank you.
