Conejo Valley graduating seniors


Andrew Webster Fealy Andrew Webster Fealy, son of Peri and Michael Fealy, is graduating with honors and being recognized as valedictorian at Westlake High School. Andrew has been involved with BTC for seven years and was recognized with the Bronze Presidential Volunteer Service Award. He played baseball for three years, was a member of the Spanish Honors Society and Physics Club and served as a WOW Week counselor. Outside of school, he volunteered as an umpire and sports camp counselor, and participated in a Spanish immersion program in Costa Rica. This fall Andrew will attend UC Santa Barbara studying either biophysics or astrophysics.

Boys Team Charity Inc. Conejo Valley League was formed in 2011 to give boys and their parents the opportunity to assist the community through team and individual projects.

The focus of the organization is growing, learning and serving the community together.The Boys Team Charity Conejo Valley League members live in Agoura Hills, Westlake Village, Newbury Park and Thousand Oaks.

The league philanthropies include Casa Pacifica, Conejo Recreation and Park District, Discovery Science Center, Food Forward, Manna Food Bank, Many Mansions, My Stuff Bags, Heal the Bay, Habitat for Humanity, LIFE Animal Rescue and Mountains Restoration Trust.

The following Westlake High School seniors are not pictured but are in the graduating BTC senior class: William Beck and Mason McElvain.

Andrew Whitehouse Andrew Whitehouse, son of Lorene and Whit Whitehouse, attends Westlake High School, where he played on the varsity boys’ tennis team and was recognized as a scholar-athlete all four years while also making the honor roll. He’s been ranked in the top 10 in his age group by Southern California Tennis, in the top 100 nationally as a junior player and a five-star player and received the USTA’s Sportsmanship Award in 2017. Andrew will study business at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and hopes to have a career in finance and entrepreneurship.

Cayden Michael Phipps Cayden Michael Phipps, son of Kathleen Mallory- Phipps and Michael Phipps, attends Newbury Park High School. He was a member of the mountain bike team and served as the team’s secretary in 2015 and publicity officer in 2016. Cayden was selected to the National Interscholastic Cycling Association and placed fifth in the California State Championships and was nationally ranked in the top 50. Outside of school, he volunteered at Newbury Park First Christian Church, Ronald Reagan Leadership Program and the Stonehaus Trek Racing mountain bike team. Cayden will major in manufacturing engineering at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo this fall.

Collin Leslie Collin Leslie, son of Lisa and Marc Leslie, is graduating with honors from Oaks Christian School. Collin played on the varsity water polo team for three years. During his senior year, the team became state CIF champions. Collin has also been a member of the National Honor Society, was recognized as a Lion Scholar and made the headmaster’s list all four years in high school at OCS. This fall, Collin will study engineering at either UCLA or Cal Poly San Luis Obispo while aspiring to become a software engineer.

Danny was a member of both the football and lacrosse teams while at Oaks Christian. He applied his love of sports to volunteering in all sports- related philanthropies through BTC. Danny will play football at the University of San Diego this fall. He wants to major in business.

Evan Muscatel Evan Muscatel, son of Gina and Dave Muscatel, attends Westlake High School, where he is graduating as valedictorian with an overall GPA of 4.9. Evan served as vice president of the Spanish Honors Society, as a member of the California Scholarship Federation and National Honor Society, and worked as a writing-center tutor. Outside of school, he participated as a Boys State delegate, in the Ronald Reagan Student Leadership Program and in YMCA’s Youth and Government program, and has twice been recognized in BTC with the Presidential Volunteer Service Award. Evan will attend Dartmouth College to study physics in the fall.

John Gerald Cheney John “ Jack” Gerald Cheney, son of Ellen and Brent Chaney, attended Chaminade College Preparatory School. Jack served as class vice president and team captain of the wrestling team while being recognized as a scholar-athlete all four years. Jack Andrew Burnison Jack Andrew Burnison, son of Leslie and Gary Burnison, graduated from Oak Park High School, where he was the captain of the baseball team. Leo’s favorite BTC philanthropy was Conejo Rec and Park District’s Therapeutic Recreation Unit. After serving as an intern at New Regency Production Company, Leo has decided to attend the University of Arizona to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.

Mackenzie was a member of the track and field and cross country teams all four years at OCS. He was recognized as a Lion Scholar. He worked as a summer intern for the Republican Party and received a Silver Presidential Volunteer Service Award. He was also involved with the Eco Club and International Affairs Club while attending Oaks Christian. Mackenzie will double major in political science and international studies with a minor in legal reasoning and analysis. He will be on a pre-law track at Baylor University and hopes to become an international and constitutional lawyer.

He hopes to find employment as a financial and economic analyst.

Nicholas Ferrone Nicholas Ferrone, son of Denise and John Ferrone, attended Chaminade College Preparatory High School, where he was a four-year member of the soccer team, recipient of scholar-athlete awards and named to the Mission League Second Team All-League for 2017. He was also a member of the Diversity Team and CIT for the Chaminade summer program. In addition to high school soccer, Nicholas has played in the Coast Soccer League for the past nine years. He received the Outstanding Philanthropic Awards in 2015 and 2016 from BTC as well as the Gold Level Presidential Volunteer Service Award. His favorite philanthropy was Many Mansions Homework Tutoring Club and summer camp. Nicholas will attend the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University this fall.

Nicholas Ferrone Nicholas Ferrone, son of Denise and John Ferrone, attended Chaminade College Preparatory High School, where he was a four-year member of the soccer team, recipient of scholar-athlete awards and named to the Mission League Second Team All-League for 2017.
