Boys Team Charity Inc. Conejo Valley League was formed in 2011 to give boys and their parents the opportunity to assist the community through team and individual projects. BTC members live in Agoura Hills, Westlake Village, Newbury Park and Thousand Oaks.

Peter Beer

Peter Beer, son of Carolyn and Mitchell Beer, was a scholar-athlete at Westlake High School. He served as vice president of the Sports Analytics Club, as an officer for the California Scholarship Foundation and as a team captain for the Action Team.

Earning the Presidential Service Award, Peter held annual sportsgear drives for local and global underserved communities.

He enjoyed a majority of his time with BTC volunteering at Many Mansions summer camp and the Challenger sports programs.

Peter plans to study sports management and marketing at Indiana University’s Kelley Business School.

Andrew Foster Berg

Andrew Foster Berg

Andrew Berg, son of Douglass and Scott Berg, attended Sierra Canyon School through his junior year, then transferred to Thousand Oaks High School. He played four years of varsity football and lacrosse, winning a league title in both and a section title in football.

Berg is a California Scholastic Federation lifetime member, a scholar athlete and dean’s list recipient.

Outside of school, Berg played for the Los Angeles Heat national lacrosse team.

As a founding member of BTC, he enjoyed volunteering at Conejo Recreation and Park District’s therapeutic summer camp for four summers.

He will play club lacrosse in college and major in sports management/ business at the University of Oregon.

Alexander Ferrone

Alexander Ferrone, son of John and Denise Ferrone, attended Chaminade High, where he received the scholar-athlete award for three years of soccer and one year of baseball. He was a member of freshman blue crew, LINK and served as a student liaison. He attended Oaks Christian his senior year and was a member of the theater arts stage crew.

Outside of school, Alex is a confirmation core team leader at St. Jude Catholic Church in Westlake Village.

Alex is a six-year member of BTC, serving as a peer mentor, helping to teach social and independent-living skills to young adults with developmental disabilities.

He plans to major in entrepreneurship and minor in philosophy at the University of San Diego.

Justin Mosher

Justin Mosher, son of Corinna and Michael Mosher, attended Agoura High, where he played varsity water polo and was named to the All Ventura County first team 2019. He was also a two-time USA Water Polo Academic All-American.

While in BTC, he earned the President’s Award for Community Service in 2017.

He plans to attend either UC Davis or USC to pursue a career in environmental law.

William Decker

Will Decker, son of Mary and Brian Decker, attended Westlake High, where he played baseball and was a scholar-athlete.

A six-year BTC member, Will’s favorite philanthropy was Casa Pacifica. He enjoyed interacting and playing sports with the kids.

Will plans to attend the University of Arizona and study sports management.

Justin Fealy, son of Michael and Peri Fealy, attended Westlake High School, where he played soccer and was recognized as a scholar-athlete for three years. He also worked as a counselor for freshman orientation week.

Outside of school, he played club soccer and was an avid skier and mountain biker.

A six-year BTC member, Justin’s favorite philanthropy was Ruben Castro Food Share in Moorpark.

He plans to study psychology at University of Colorado Boulder and pursue a career in either criminal/ forensic psychology or marriage/ family therapy.

Tristan Carta

Tristan Carta, son of John and Lori Carta, attended Westlake High School, where he was a member of the soccer team and a percussionist with the wind ensemble. While at WHS, Tristan was recognized as a scholar-athlete, an outstanding percussionist and an AP Scholar. He was awarded valedictorian of his senior class. He was a member of the National Honor Society and served as vice president of the Student Scholarship Foundation and WHS PTSA.

Outside of school, Tristan worked for the YMCA, played club soccer and volunteered at CRPD’s therapeutic summer camp through BTC.

He plans on majoring in business at the University of Texas in Austin.

Kyle James Valestrino

Kyle Valestrino, son of Nick and Mollie Valestrino, attended Westlake High School, where he played football and ran track all four years.

He was awarded the scholar-athlete award and MVP for defensive player of the year as well as special teams player of the year.

As a six-year member of BTC, Kyle enjoyed working at Many Mansions, My Stuff Bags and Casa Pacifica.

He will attend the University of Utah and study civil engineering.

Diego Guerrero

Diego Guerrero, son of George and Veronica Guerrero, attended Oaks Christian High School, where he played baseball and was awarded MVP and offensive player of the year.

While in BTC, Diego enjoyed volunteering for Many Mansions and Food Forward. He earned the Presidential Service Award.

Diego plans to attend Cal Lutheran University, where he will study business administration and play baseball.

Benjamin Ezra Harris

Ben Harris, son of Melinda Garabedian and David Harris, attended Westlake High School, where he earned AP and California

Arts scholar honors. He was also a leader in the choral program and participated in four audition choirs including the 12-member A Class Act, which presented more than 30 community service performances. Ben was the featured male soloist at the May 2018 All District Choir production at the Civic Arts Plaza.

In BTC, his favorite philanthropies were Paw Works, Restore and CRPD’s therapeutic recreation. Since eighth grade he worked as a teachers’ aide at Temple Etz Chaim’s religious school on Sundays.

Ben will enroll as a freshman at Brandeis University in Boston.

Daniel Howard

Daniel Howard, son of Ramona and Jim Howard, attended Oaks Christian High, where he played baseball and was recognized as an AP Scholar.

Daniel is a founding member of BTC. He is one of the two longest-serving members, having volunteered over eight years. His favorite BTC philanthropies were Food Forward and Casa Pacifica.

Daniel will attend the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University.

Blake Zingerman

Blake Zingerman, son of Tim and Julie Zingerman, attended Thousand Oaks High School, where he was captain and varsity setter for the volleyball team. He earned scholar athlete and AP Scholar awards, as well as the Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish. He received the AP Capstone diploma for his research work in the Centers Program. He is an honors student and lifetime member of California Scholarship Federation.

Outside of school, Blake tutored math and science, served as a referee for the local youth basketball league and enjoyed snowboarding and outdoor sports.

As a member of BTC, Blake volunteered to help the homeless, notably with Food Forward, where he approached local farmers for healthy produce to distribute to those in need.

He plans to attend Cal Lutheran University, where he will play volleyball.

Andrew Johnson, son of Jami and Frank Johnson, attended Loyola High School, where he played football and was in the speech and debate club. He was an AP Scholar and graduated with honors.

Outside of school,Andrew earned his Eagle Scout rank in 2018. He has held the leadership role as core team leader for the confirmation program at St. Jude the Apostle Church in Westlake Village, overseeing 150 confirmands.

Andrew has earned the BTC Presidential Service Award three times. His favorite philanthropy was coaching flag football for CRPD’s therapeutic recreation.

Andrew is interested in career opportunities in the fields of neuropsychology and business.

Hudson Kispert, son of Cheri and Wilhelm Kispert, attended Agoura High, where he was an International Baccalaureate Diploma student and salutatorian. He was co-captain of the varsity soccer team, ran cross country and was a four-year scholar-athlete. He also earned the Gold Service Learning Award.

Outside of school, he played club soccer and was a counselor at First Neighborhood Day Camp and a math tutor. As a member of BTC, he enjoyed volunteering at Casa Pacifica and FOOD Share for Ruben Castro Charity.

He plans to attend Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo to study mechanical engineering.

Steven Hath-Sheffer

Steven Hath- Sheffer, son of Brian and Hillary Sheffer, attended Westlake High, where he was the kicker for the football team and was accepted into the advanced anatomy program. Steven was recognized as a scholar-athlete and was a member of the National Honor Society. Outside of school, Steven is a competitive rock climber and a member of USA Climbing.

A six-year BTC member, he enjoyed volunteering with CRPD’s therapeutic unit, Many Mansions and the Discovery Center.

In the fall Steven will attend Colorado State University, where he will major in biomedical sciences with a pre-med emphasis. His goal is to become a surgeon.

Ryan Smith

Ryan Smith, son of Stephen and Lisa Smith, attended Westlake High, where he played volleyball and was recognized as a scholar-athlete and AP Scholar. He served two terms as secretary of the PTSA and as a core leader in Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Outside of school, Ryan works as a team member at Chick-fil-A.

As a BTC member, Ryan participated in the farmers market as well as doing beach cleanups.

He will attend Boston University and study computer engineering.

Jacob Evan Takeo Lippel

Jacob Lippel, son of Jordan and Sherry Lippel, attended Westlake High School, where he played soccer and football and was recognized as a scholar-athlete all four years and as an AP Scholar.

He was a founding member of the Make-A-Wish Foundation Club at Westlake and served as vice president. He participated in student government for three years, his last as commissioner of E-Crew.

As a member of BTC, Jake earned the President’s Volunteer Service Award and the City of Thousand Oaks Volunteer Award.

He plans on attending a four-year university program and studying marketing and finance.

Chad Evan McMillan

Chad McMillan, son of Yael and Gary McMillan, attended Westlake High, where he played baseball and was recognized as a scholar-athlete all four years.

In BTC, Chad enjoyed volunteering for CRPD’s therapeutic recreation unit. He earned presidential awards every year of membership for his volunteer hours, and last year he was recognized by the city and given an award as a distinguished teen volunteer.

Chad plans to study business in college.

Jeremy Mettel, son of Andrea and Robert Mettel, attended Westlake High, where he played on the golf team and was recognized as a four-year scholar-athlete and AP Scholar. He was also a member of the Spanish Honor Society and the California Scholarship Federation.

As a six-year BTC member, his favorite philanthropies were Manna and Many Mansions. He earned the President’s Volunteer Service Award.

Outside of school, he enjoyed working as a baseball umpire for several years as well as a teaching assistant for his temple.

Jeremy will attend UC Berkeley and pursue a law degree.

Alexander L. Whitehouse

Alex Whitehouse, son of Whit and Lorene Whitehouse, attended Westlake High, where he ran track and field. He participated in the theater arts program and was cast in many plays.

Outside of school, Alex appeared on the CBS All Access show “Strange Angel.” He continues to work as a commercial actor as well as write and produce music videos and short films.

At BTC, he enjoyed volunteering for many of the organizations, but his favorite was working with CRPD’s therapeutic unit helping, coaching and teaching special-needs children.

Alex is pursing his dream of becoming a working actor and producer. He plans to attend college to study film and media.
