Born Learners honors teacher

Teacher Deidre Hayward is retiring in June from Born Learners School of Agoura Hills. She has taught at the school for 24 years.

The school is planning a tribute to Hayward in conjunction with the annual open house from 5 to 7 p.m. Thurs., April 30.

Bea Elliott, director/owner of Born Learners, is requesting that alumni come and share their memories with Hayward.

Hayward was honored in 2002 with a Pride of Workmanship Award by the Rotary Club of Agoura and Calabasas. She has also recently become a United States citizen.

Hayward lives in Westlake Village with her husband David. Regarding her retirement, Hayward said she will spend more time with her family in England and help her daughter Laura with her fall wedding.
