Book club a safe place for veterans to share their own wartime stories

The peer-led reading group meets at the Camarillo Library

Doug Devine had just finished reading “Matterhorn: A Novel of the Vietnam War,” a New York Times best-seller by Karl Marlantes, when he learned about a reading group that meets at the Camarillo Library.
What caught Devine’s attention was the fact that the group members were discussing the book by Marlantes—a decorated Marine who fought in Vietnam— but he was also intrigued by the members themselves.
