Bond oversight committee needed

The Conejo Valley Unified School District is seeking qualified, interested community members to serve on the Independent Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee for the implementation of the district’s Measure I school facilities bond program.

Measure I is a $197-million bond measure that authorizes funding for needed repairs, upgrades and new construction projects at the district’s schools.

The bond passed in November 2014 with a voter approval of 65 percent, above the supermajority requirement of 55 percent.

Responsibilities of the committee include keeping informed about the expenditure of Measure I bond proceeds, reviewing expenditure reports and presenting an annual written report to the school board. The Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee meets about four times a year, with meetings typically taking place in the afternoon.

Each committee member serves a two-year term, commencing at the date of appointment by the school board.

The deadline to submit an application is 4 p.m. Fri., June 29. For online applications, go to conejousd.org/applytoCBOC.
