In reply to K.C. Durfee’s letter to the editor, the vast majority of Ansel Adams’ iconic images of Yosemite are in black and white. The lack of color does not diminish the power and grandeur of Yosemite.
Just as in still photography, black-and-white filmmaking is a subset of the art form. It takes a special skill set to shoot a film in black and white. The technical challenges are many and differ greatly from shooting in color.
Should we simply get rid of all those of black-and-whit...
