Bicycle shop rallies to support great cause

Sundance Cycles, Agoura Hills, is organizing a team to ride the Santa Barbara MS Bike Tour on Sat., Oct. 20.

Their goal is to raise $30,000 to help the Channel Islands chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. With support from local corporate sponsors, cyclists, friends and customers, they’re confident their goal can be attained.

"Several of our customers’ lives have been affected by MS, and when this ride came up we saw it as a good way to show our support for them, benefit a great cause and have some fun all at the same time," said Steve Dozier, co-owner of Sundance Cycles.

Sundance is offering incentives to riders who sign up for the Sundance Cycles team. Each team member will receive training tips, group training rides, mechanical support and discounts on store merchandise. In turn, each team member is being asked to raise a minimum of $100 in donations for the MS Society, in addition to the $25 entry fee for the ride.

The National MS Society is dedicated to ending the devastating effects of MS. Funds received through the MS bike tour support education, advocacy, research and local programs that enhance the quality of life for people with MS and their families.
