Better planning in Agoura Hills will be needed

I have been an Agoura Hills resident, living on Cedarhaven Drive with my family, for over 11 years. My property backs to Reyes Adobe. When we moved into our home on Cedarhaven Drive, there was some, but slight road noise, emitting from traffic on Reyes Adobe.

However, as the traffic backup entering Kanan Road from the 101 Freeway has significantly increased, Reyes Adobe has become an alternate route for the residents of Morrison Ranch and Oak Park and the traffic and noise have increased. For several years we have been feeling a bit more optimistic, knowing that improvements to the Kanan Road/101 Freeway interchange were finally coming and would result in a reduction of traffic on Reyes Adobe. So much for the good news.

Now for the bad news. The city is now planning for a major project to be developed at the Kanan/101 interchange that will result in the same problem we have been trying to eliminate for the past 10 years.

I suggest that a logical approach to a planned village be considered after the 101/Kanan interchange project is completed with a current traffic survey. Also, the results of the resident survey that was completed several months ago should provide an excellent guide for the city planners as to the direction the city takes on all development projects.
