Better mask protection required for private employees, county says

As COVID-19 cases continue to surge due to the highly transmissible Omicron variant, Los Angeles County public health officials are putting additional pressure on businesses to make sure employees are masked up properly.

The public health department says that by no later than Jan. 17, employers are required to provide indoor workers in close contact with others with well-fitting medical grade masks, surgical masks, or higher-level respirators, such as N95 or KN95 masks.
