Ban on plastic bags carries new weight

California state legislators have taken the first step toward banning the distribution of plastic bags, an idea already implemented by several cities in the state and currently under consideration in Calabasas.

The Calabasas City Council tabled its ban on plastic bags to wait for a county report due out this year.
