Pacific Festival Ballet will present “Noah’s Ark,” a multimedia show with ballet, contemporary dance, aerial work, video and special effects, at 2 and 7 p.m. Sat., May 20 at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 E. T.O. Blvd.

The performers are guest artists and select students from California Dance Theatre, the company’s training school.

The show features an original 90-minute score recorded in Russia with a 60-piece orchestra.

This is the second collaboration between Kim Maselli, Pacific Festival Ballet’s artistic director, and Eric Allaman, composer.

“Noah’s Ark” is a retelling of the biblical story brought to life through dance.

The flood and other scenes are film-projected behind the dancers on a 40-foot screen.

The use of hand puppets allows one dancer for each animal represented while suggesting the notion of two by two.

One of the dancers, who is an aerialist, will perform the role of the Dove on silks suspended 20 feet in the air.

Tickets at $34 are available online at ticketmaster.com, at the CAP box office or by phone at (800) 745-3000.
