Auditions open for ‘Little Women’




The Young Artists Ensemble will hold auditions Sat. and Sun., March 9 and 10 for “Little Women” at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts, 403 West Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks. Time slots will begin at 9:45 a.m. Saturday and at 11:45 a.m. Sunday.

Directed by Michael Fischer, “Little Women” is a play by Sandra Fenichel Asher based on Louisa May Alcott’s story about four sisters in 1860s New England.

Actors are requested to prepare a one-minute memorized monologue or poem. There will be no dance or singing needed, however, actors may be asked to do a cold reading from the script and some improvisation.

Participants must be at least 10 years old and not yet 20 years old by May 19. There will be a $180 participation fee if cast. Financial assistance is available.

Cast members and parents must attend a meeting from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wed., March 13.

Callbacks will be Mon., March 11. Rehearsals will be Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. starting Sat., March 16.

Performances will be May 3 through 19 on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m.
