The Agoura Hills Library at 29901 Ladyface Court will host the following free programs for the community.

The Agoura Readers Book Club will discuss “Boys in the Boat” by Daniel Brown at 6:30 p.m. Tues., Jan. 27. This is the story of the nine members of the 1936 Olympic rowing team and their unexpected defeat of the German team to capture the Olympic gold medal as well as the story of small town America struggling to survive the great depression.

The Mystery Book Club will discuss “Cross and Burn” by Val McDermid at 6:30 p.m. Wed., Feb. 4.

Meeting F. Scott Fitzgerald event from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sat., Feb. 7. Actor/writer Larry Vanderveen will assume the role of the novelist in a oneman show exploring the life and times of the man who wrote “The Great Gatsby” and “This Side of Paradise.”

Teen volunteers are needed from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of every month. Teens can make new friends and earn community service hours.

The Agoura Hills Library is part of the County of Los Angeles pilot program that provides preloaded Kindles, which are available for circulation. At any given time, 70 percent of the Kindles are circulating.

The library has an Employment Resources website available for use. Computers are available for up to two hours per day and include 10 free printed pages. There are also links to Internet resources, books related to job search and access to JobScout, a free online learning platform that teaches basic digital literacy skills.

Music In Motion, led by Linnea Richards, continues at 9:30 a.m. every Friday.

Used books can be dropped off at the Book Cellar or left at the front desk during business hours. The staff can assist with donations. All proceeds are used to support library programs and to purchase new materials. Pickup can be arranged for large collections by calling (818) 584-7219.
