The Calabasas Library will offer the following free programs in May at 200 Civic Center Way.

Sat., May 18 is the last day for Love to Learn tutoring.

The last day of Study Buddies and Peer Counseling will be Thurs., May 23.

The library will be closed Sat. and Sun., May 25 and 26.

Story time will be cancelled Fri., May 31.

Thursday, May 2, 16 and 30 at noon, Yoga and You with Deanne Wenger. Bring yoga mat or large towel.

Sat., May 4, new and emerging readers (grades K-3) can read aloud to therapy dogs trained through Pet Partners. Reservations start at 11 a.m. in the library. The program runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Sat., May 4 at 3:30 p.m., the Writers’ Corner Club for third- through seventh-graders. No experience in creative writing necessary.

Tuesdays at 7 p.m. Good Night, Sleep Tight Story Time for kids age 6 and under. Children must be accompanied by parent or guardian.

Wed., May 15 at 6 p.m., the Film Fanatics will host a POV documentary by PBS called “93Queen,” about Hasidic women who create the first all-female volunteer ambulance corps in New York City. Patrons may bring dinner. The event is a collaboration with PBS’ award-winning nonfiction film series with a co-production of American Documentary. Wed., May 16 at 11 a.m., the Wednesday Morning Book Club will meet.

Thurs., May 30, the Calabasas Las Virgenes Historical Society will meet. Socializing will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by a lecture at 6 p.m. Patricia Colman, professor and historian, will discuss women homesteaders, specifically Anna Leffingwell who settled in Calabasas in 1885.
