The holidays are approaching and upcoming programs at the Agoura Hills Library reflect the season’s traditions. All events are free and will be at the library, 29901 Ladyface Court, Agoura Hills.

•Residents can show off their favorite cookie or brownie recipe for a Cookie/Brownie Bake-off for all ages on Sat., Dec. 3. Entrees will be judged by the public at 3 p.m. and the winner will be given a prize.

•The fifth annual Victorian Tea Party will be at 2 p.m. Sat., Dec. 10. Each year Miss Grace hosts this very popular event that features holiday refreshments and entertainment for children.

•The monthly Agoura Readers Book Club will meet on Tues., Nov. 22. This month’s selection is “In the Garden of Beasts” by Erik Larson, a writer of narrative non-fiction.

The book tells a story set in Berlin in 1933 when William E. Dodd became America’s first ambassador to Hitler’s Germany in a year that was a turning point in world history.

•The Mystery Book Club will meet Wed., Dec. 7 in the Library Fireplace Room. The book, “The Beekeeper’s Apprentice,” is the first in the Mary Russell/Sherlock Holmes series.

Books are available at the Customer Service Desk.

•Preschool Storytime meets every Wednesday at 11 am through Dec. 7. All preschoolers are welcome for stories and activities.

•Look for gently used books, videos, DVDs, magazines, and CDs at the Book Cellar, open every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. under the library off the parking garage. Paperbacks start at 50 cents and hard covers at $1. All proceeds benefit the Agoura Hills Library and provide library programs and materials lost to county and state budget cuts. Donations are welcome.

The Agoura Hills Library is open five days a week: Tuesday and Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Thursday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
