The Calabasas Library at 200 Civic Center Way will present the following events at no charge.

New and emerging readers in grades K-3 can read aloud to therapy dogs for 15 minutes between 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sat., Oct. 1.

Reservations will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the library.

Peer counseling for grades nine through 12 is available in the Young Adult area on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. beginning Thurs., Oct. 4.

Teens can drop in to get help in math, English or a school project. The program is run by the library and the National Honor Society of Calabasas High School.

Yoga and You at the Library will be at noon Thurs., Oct. 6 and 20. Wear comfortable clothing. Bring a yoga mat or large towel and water. No experience necessary and all are welcome.

Deanne Wenger is the yoga instructor.

Story time designed for children on the autism spectrum will be at noon Sun., Oct. 9 in the children’s reading room. Each story time session will have participatory storytelling, sensory songs and social support.

The movie group will meet at 6 p.m. Wed., Oct. 19. For more information and the title of the movie, call the library.

Lunch @ the Library! workshop will be at noon Thurs., Oct. 27. Shulamit Sendowski will present “A Look at Muscular Tension” and how the Alexander Technique can turn stress and tension into ease and lightness.

Participants will be moving and should dress in comfortable clothes.

Stephen Burleigh of College Pathways will give a workshop for parents and college bound 10th, 11th and 12th graders at 1 p.m. Sat., Oct. 29. He will cover admission basics, the differences between UC and CSU, essay and personal statement basics and financial aid.

The library will host a special “Twilight” event for teens age 12 and up at 3 p.m. Sat., Oct. 29.

The event will feature a craft and movie based on the third book in the “Twilight” saga by Stephenie Meyer. The film is rated PG-13; no one under the age of 12 will be admitted.
