Astronomy buffs wish upon a star cluster





The Ventura County Astronomical Society will host guest speaker Dr. Nate McCrady at 7:30 p.m. Fri., June 22 in the multipurpose room at Mesa Union School, 3901 Mesa Road, Somis. The public is invited.

McCrady will speak on “Super Star Clusters.” New adaptive optics images are providing new views of super star clusters. These dense collections of bright stars provide important clues about the origins and time evolution of galaxies.

McCrady is a National Science Foundation postdoctoral fellow and adjunct assistant professor of astronomy at UCLA.
