Assistance League gets awards

Assistance League of Southern California’s Anne Banning Auxiliary Professionals recently presented an awards luncheon and fashion show at the Riviera Country Club.

Auxiliary members and Calabasas residents Debbie Priel, Caryl Kaplan and Pat Spears were among those attending the event.

Net proceeds of $30,000 from the luncheon will benefit Operation School Bell, one of nine services of Assistance League of Southern California that provides clothing and grooming products to more than 3,900 impoverished children who lack basic school attire.

Operation School Bell is operated exclusively by 150-plus volunteers, members of the Anne Banning Auxiliary.

Assistance League of California, a nonprofit organization established in 1919, provides a broad range of essential human services to more than 110,000 people in need within the greater Los Angeles area.
