Whose tree is it anyway?
I’ve been asked dozens of times about trees that are in the front yard of someone’s house that are considered city street trees but are still on private property. People have asked if it’s okay for the owner of the property to trim the tree or cut it down.
In the older neighborhoods of Thousand Oaks, specifically properties that have a parkway separating the sidewalk from the curb, it is pretty easy to tell where the public service easement is located...
