The 2007 All-State teams for baseball and softball have been released by CalHiSports.com.

Making the All-State Softball First Team were Camarillo High senior pitcher Lindsey Dean and Oaks Christian senior Taylor Schlopy, a multipurpose selection.

On the mound, Schlopy’s repertoire of tough-to-hit pitches led to a 13-3 record with a .935 ERA and 191 strikeouts.

Delaney Willard of Camarillo and Royal’s Kacee Cox made the All-State Second Team.

Willard led ACHS with nine home runs and 44 RBI while posting a robust .505 batting average. Cox fueled the Highlanders’ offensive attack with a .440 batting average and 34 RBI.

A trio of area stars made the All-State Baseball First Team.

Pitcher Matt Bywater, of the Marmonte League champion Thousand Oaks Lancers, was honored after going 12-0 with a 1.12 ERA and posting 62 strikeouts. Bywater will pitch for Pepperdine in the fall.

Newbury Park’s Andrew Lambo and Camarillo’s Garrett Rau were multipurpose selections on the first team.

Rau pitched 10 scoreless innings during Camarillo’s 1-0 loss to Vista Murrieta in the CIFSouthern Section Division II title game at Dodger Stadium.
