Annual sale of native plants to be presented by wildflower enthusiasts





The California Native Plant Society’s (CNPS) Los AngelesSanta Monica Mountains Chapter will host its annual California Native Plant Sale and Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sat. and Sun., Oct. 15 and 16 at the Sepulveda Garden Center, 16633 Magnolia Blvd., Encino.

Hundreds of California native plants will be available for purchase. The sale will include plants, seeds, shrubs, ground covers and irises. Books, posters and maps will also be offered for sale.

In addition, the event will have children’s activities, refreshments for purchase, displays, free teacher education information and a free scoop of wildflower seed for those who become members of CNPS.

Experts will be on hand to provide growing tips and techniques.

Other organizations presenting educational displays during the two-day event include park docent groups, the Audubon Society, Los Angeles River Project and the National Park Service.
