Stories about animal hoarders make their way into the news, but there is a big difference between someone who adopts many animals just to have them and a legitimate rescue organization.

Hoarders have an illness that compels them to take in animals. They do not save these animals. They neglect them and put them at risk for further disease. When discovered, the animals are often taken in by humane organizations or a rescue group.
