Amorous owls produce four new chicks



FAMILY TREE—Singer stands guard over Sonata, the momma, and their four new chicks. Singer’s plumage is so beautiful he almost looks fake. Below, the chicks as they begin to grow up.

It all started one morning about two months ago when Meagan Platt arrived at the Nature of Wildworks wildlife center in Topanga at 9 a.m. to begin her day as an animal caretaker. She was there to check on and feed the 50 birds and mammals that call the center home.
