American Jewish Committee names new administrator

Saundra Mandel is a veteran political staffer and community activist




The American Jewish Committee (AJC) recently announced the appointment of Saundra Mandel, a veteran political staffer and community activist, to the position of associate director.


In her new position, Mandel will be involved in developing and implementing the organization’s strategic vision, taking primary responsibility for the further development of AJC’s leadership and social justice/human relations presence in Southern California.


In addition, Mandel will maintain the organization’s relationships with L.A.’s various urban and ethnic communities while spearheading initiatives and programs including the building of the first permanent Jewish/Latino Institute in the nation.


Mandel was formerly head of the Jewish Community Relations Committee, the social action arm of the Jewish Federation Valley Alliance.
