It’s important for parents to watch their children for signs of dehydration—and to take steps to prevent the condition from occurring in the first place.
Doctors say children tend to be more at risk of becoming dehydrated than adults because of the way their bodies perspire and because they produce an excessive amount of body heat when they exercise. Also, children can sometimes become so wrapped up in their play that they simply forget to drink.
