AHS is No. 1

AHS is No. 1

On Oct. 3, I attended a fundraiser for Cure Autism Now. It was a very heartwarming and worthwhile event, but my most memorable part of the evening was when two young men addressed the audience to discuss their life experiences in dealing with their diagnosis of autism.

These two remarkable individuals were surrounded by the Agoura High School track and field team. These selfless high school students attended the event and supported their teammates for the evening.

I know that Las Virgenes Unified School District is frequently criticized for insufficient funding and attention to students with special needs, but I have never been more proud of the district and a group of high school students.

Bravo to them for giving of their time and supporting their classmates.
