Agoura’s fallen hero

JANN HENDRY/Acorn Newspapers TREE TRIMMED--City consultant Rebecca Latta surveys a 16-inch-diameter branch that fell from a large Valley oak tree on Quail Run Drive in Agoura Hills on Monday. The SUV on the left was parked underneath when the branch fell. Latta said the branch was about a fourth of the entire tree, but she expects the 200-year-old tree to be saved. She was told by a representative from the Hillrise Homeowners Association that the area once contained a creek that was filled in when homes were built. The disappearing creek may have contributed to the tree's demise, Latta said.
